David Ruffley visits nationally recognised hospital project

Thursday, 3 May, 2012

David Ruffley MP will be visiting West Suffolk Hospital on Friday 4 May at 3.30pm.

David Ruffley MP said: 'I am very pleased to be asked by West Suffolk Hospital to visit the Red Flag Project with Matron Tracey Oats. This is an innovative project which has improved the care which orthopaedic patients receive and has been highlighted nationally by the Department of Health as an example of best practice. The Project ensures that all patients who suffer a hip fracture receive an early diagnosis, expert care on a specialist ward, early pain relief, rapid surgery and therapy to help them regain independence.

I will also be visiting a ward to find out more about the new Cryo Cuff Therapy to help reduce painful swelling after knee replacements to allow patients to return home sooner.

The Suffolk NHS deserves support- and it gets that from me.'
