David Ruffley MP will be the special guest a the Bury Bamako Exchange photographic exhibit 'Your Place & Our Place' at The Edmund Gallery, Bury St Edmunds on Friday 3 February at 6.45pm.

David Ruffley MP said: 'I am greatly looking foward to seeing the photographic exchange between schoolchildren here in Bury St Edmunds, and Bamako, Mali.

The exhibition has been developed with the Mali Development Group, a local organisation, formed in 2001, with the objectives of supporting development work in Mali, as well as and promoting awareness in this country about the people and culture of this west African country.

The project is the brainchild of Bury photographer John Williams, who suggested sending 50 single use film cameras for African children to use. Jessops in Bury very kindly provided the cameras and a non-government organisation shipped them to Malawi.

This is a wonderful opportunity for school children in Suffolk to develop new skills and to demonstrate their talents in a thought provoking exhibit.'
